Dean of the Institut Français de la Mode (IFM)
Dominique Jacomet is the Dean of the “Institut Français de la Mode” (IFM), where he also teaches strategy and governance of fashion and luxury companies.
He is a graduate of Sciences-Po Paris and has a doctorate in Management Science from the Université Paris-Dauphine. After teaching economics, he occupied various management posts at Indreco and Devanlay (New Man, Mendès, Lacoste) from 1982 to 1998. From 1999 to 2007, he was CEO and member of the board at Devanlay SA, holder of the worldwide license for Lacoste clothes. He was President of Euratex (1996-1998) and vice-president of Union des Industries Textiles. He is at the head of the « Surveys & Forecasting » section of the Conférence Nationale de l’Industrie (CNI) that was set up by decree in June 2010. In addition, he is an associate lecturer in Economics at ESCP Europe and Sciences Po Paris. In 2010, he was a member of the jury for the management science aggregation. He has written three books on the textile, fashion and clothing industry at Editions Economica: Le textile-habillement, une industrie de pointe (1987 et 1989), Les textiles (1992), and Mode, textile et mondialisation (2007).
