Patrizia Calefato is Professor of Sociology of Culture and Communication at Università degli studi di Bari Aldo Moro (Italia). Her main fields of research are fashion theory, the clothed body, cultural and media studies, the social dimension of language, gender studies.
She is member of the Advisory Boards of some international journals, among which: “Zone Moda Journal”, “Journal of Asia Pacific Pop Culture”, “Fashion Theory”, “Semiotica”.
She is also member of the Editorial Boards of book series, among which: Anthem Studies in Fashion, Dress and Visual Cultures; Les Cahiers Européens de l’imaginaire.
